The targeting of tunnels by Israeli airstrikes has restricted the flow of food and fuel into Gaza. (

A horrifying amateur video from Syria emerged online, showing an apparent mass execution of Assad supporters in Aleppo at the hands of rebels from the Free Syria Army. The footage shows several bloodied men stripped down to their underwear being forced to kneel by a wall amidst a throng of excited, machine gun-touting men. Once their captors open fire, the camera jerks away as the crowd momentarily disperses, seemingly unprepared for the nearly 40 seconds of uninterrupted shooting that follows. As the gunfire dies down, shouts of “Allahu Akbar!” resound as the once skittish onlookers victoriously raise their guns in the air, approaching what appears to be a pile of stripped-down corpses. read full story / add a comment

Luke McGuire (26), had been following a vegan diet developed by US alternative medicine advocate Robert Young and was taking salt supplements -- labelled 'Young Phorever pHour Salts' and 'Young Phorever PuripHy' . He died after suffering a sudden collapse in Ranelagh, Dublin, on June 2, 2011. Dublin City coroner , Dr Brian Farrell , returned a verdict of “death by misadventure” on Mr McGuire .Sadly, Dr Farrell didn’t take the opportunity to issue any sort of statement about the dangers of buying these so-called supplements over the internet . read full story / add a comment

British PM Cameron is on his way to the Gulf to try and secure billions in military technology sales, he may also mention democracy but no sanctions. Saudi Arabia & the UAE are different from Syria. Full text at link. During the tour Cameron will seek to revive relations with both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where the UK has significant business interests in the oil industry. In addition, Britain will also seek to peddle 100 Typhoon fighter jets to both nations in a deal worth a potential US$10 billion. A man whose family is in the besieged city spoke with RT, and described the horrors allegedly taking place: Civilians are killed every day by toxic gas and heavy tank fire.Bani Walid, the last stronghold for supporters of deceased Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi, has been under siege for 20 days, with no resolution to the conflict in sight. RT has learned that militias are reportedly shelling the city indiscriminately, with footage from Bani Walid showing dead bodies, and women and children with missing limbs and disfigured faces. A man named Faraj, who is currently in Egypt but is in contact with relatives in Bani Walid, spoke with RT and claimed that the militias are committing genocide. Militias have reportedly encircled Bani Walid, and are not allowing any supplies into the town including food, water, medicine or humanitarian aid. Russias Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov has fired a warning shot across NATOs bows regarding provocations as a pretext for an open military attack on Syria. Full text at link. The Russian Foreign Ministry has called on NATO and Middle East countries not to devise pretexts for military intervention in Syria. Russia has expressed concern that some provocation could occur at the Turkish-Syrian border that may give NATO the green light to intervene in Syria. "In our contacts with our partners both in NATO and in the region, including on international forums, we have called on them not to look for pretexts in order to carry out a [military] operation," Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told reporters on Tuesday in Moscow. A crazy man addressed the United Nations yesterday, he seemed to believe that Iran posed a nuclear threat to world peace. He appeared unaware of Israels possession of up to 400 nuclear warheads while Iran has zero. This crazie is threatening to plunge the Middle East into War. Full text at link. In a bellicose speech before the United Nations Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanded a “red line” be placed on Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, outlining a plan of action that would lead to war next year, if not sooner. Employing a crude cartoon drawing of a bomb with a lit fuse, Netanyahu said that action to physically destroy Iran’s nuclear program would have to take place before the uranium enrichment process began its final stage, which he claimed would happen around the spring or summer of 2013. “The hour is getting late, very late,” he declared. read full story / add a comment

From The Irish Times , September 24 2012 Twelve months ago I gave a presentation on the subject of youth drug and alcohol abuse to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children. I highlighted the huge pressures facing Ireland’s youth, including peer pressure, bullying, unemployment and emigration, all within a national atmosphere of despair over our collective future. Iran’s Press TV claimed its Damascus correspondent was killed Wednesday by a rebel sniper while reporting on bombings in the Syrian capital. Two car bombs struck the Syrian Army’s command headquarters, setting one of the buildings on fire. Maya Nasser, a 33 -year-old Syrian national, was killed while reporting from the scene, Press TV said. No diplomacy from Obama, its election time, so its also time to threaten war against Iran.He ignores the fact that inspectors have found no evidence that Iran is developing nuclear weapons and of course he ignores Israels possession of 400 warheads.
