Pope Leo, like Francis, is an open borders enthusiast for whom it seems no migrant should be turned away. Why are senior churchmen so blind to sense and deaf to public concerns on border security, asks Prof Roger Watson.

GCFA special meeting in Greenore

category national | rights, freedoms and repression | press release author Monday July 21, 2008 10:37author by Dr Michael D Hynes - Greenore Cooley Fisherman's Association (GCFA) Report this post to the editors

GCFA suspends relations with GTTR

Greenore Cooley Fisherman's Association suspend relations with a local residens group due to attempts of social exclusion made by their current Chairman at the AGM in April of this year.

Greenore Cooley Fisherman’s Association vote unanimously to suspend forthwith relations with GRTTA! Press release

At a special meeting held in Greenore Sunday 20th July 2008 it was decided unanimously to suspend relations with Greenore Residents Tidy Towns. Their Chairman Padraic McKevitt wanted just 5 on the committee as he contended “last years meetings were ineffective”. GCFA Chairman Archbishop Hynes OMD accused GRTT Chairman of being discriminative and socially exclusive and that you have to facilitate all points of view if social harmony is to be attained. Problems last year were a poor reflection of the Chairman’s ability to chair meetings thus resulting in such claims made by Mr McKevitt. The GCFA Chairperson undertook to ascertain the mobile numbers of all members and – in future to remind by text all members of upcoming meetings.

Eric and Des will talk with “Port” about filling the cracks in the rocks with concrete.

The Secretary Signor Seán Crudden read an e-mail he had sent recently to Ms Sophie Gilloway of RPS Consultants about their proposal for “The Cutting” and also read her reply.

As the operator of a small boat The Chairperson Dr Michael Desmond Hynes said “he had written to RPS outlining his personal rights and outlining the legal difficulty about Sovereignty on the Carlingford Lough”.

In the winter meetings will revert to evening –time in The Blue Anchor.

Next meeting was fixed for 11 AM in 5 Anglesea Greenore Co Louth on Sunday the 24th August 2008.

Signed: Most Rev Dr Michael D Hynes OMD Chairperson and PRO
