Action man adverts....if they were actually realistic!

category international | anti-war / imperialism | other press author Thursday June 25, 2015 00:30author by auntiewar Report this post to the editors

Veterans for peace have launched a series of short films as part of a new campaign to highlight the fact that 16 year olds can still be recruited into the army in the UK. They are based on the "action man" character and depict several aspects of war not shown in ordinary adverts.

PTSD action man, paralysed action man and dead action man.
Get one of each for your kids now!

The film clips can be seen here:
http://battlefieldcasualties.co.uk/

This is an interesting campaign which highlights
UK (including NI) recruitment policies which allow kids to enlist

also, the deliberate and systematic false advertising to kids regarding war
for cynical recruitment purposes using toys, films and video games
