A Public protest to raise awareness of the crisis in Kobane and Kurdistan
and to highlight escalation of power of IS (the Islamic State otherwise known as ISIS)
will take place
on Saturday October 18th at 2pm
At the GPO, O’Connell Street, Dublin City Centre
The Kurdish Irish Society and Kurdish Solidarity Ireland are holding a protest this Saturday
in Dublin in order to raise Irish awareness of the plight of Kurds in Kobane (Syria) and also in Kurdistan following the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. This protest will also increase public vigilance that members of ISIS are walking the streets of Dublin using Ireland as a place of recovery having been involved in these atrocities against the Kurds in Kobane and Kurdistan. With the alliance of forty countries led by the US government, no ground troops have been sent to the regions to help halt the ISIS terrorists. Turkey is refusing to assist Kurds in Kobane on its borders as a member of the alliance. Kurds are been butchered, women been raped and shot, children murdered, young men drugged and decapitated for not accepting to join the ISIS terrorists. Thousands of Kurdish Muslims, Christians and Yaziedi are been denied their religious freedom and rights, and they are been tortured every day, left with little food or water, and displaced. The UN are not acting to make the regions safer.
Most Irish Kurds still have family members living in areas currently being targeted by the
Islamic State militants. Many of their friends and family have been forced to leave their homes and almost all their belongings and some of them are actively involved in combating against ISIS in the Peshmerga. The Peshmerga (Kurdish army) are looking for arms from the US alliance to fight the ISIS however there requests are not been granted. Join the Kurdish Irish community in their objective to exclude ISIS and to help recover the Kurds homeland by been a part of the protest on Saturday near the GPO to show your solidarity for the Kurds.
Guest speakers:
The new Dublin South West Socialist TD Mr Paul Murphy will preside.
There will also be speakers from the Kurdish Iranian, Syrian and Kurdistan communities.

Jump To Comment: 1The family of a former British Royal Marine who died fighting for Kurdish forces against Islamic State (Isis) in northern Syria have paid tribute to his “love, courage and conviction”.
Konstandinos Erik Scurfield, 25, was killed fighting Isis militants on Monday, according to the official spokesperson for the armed wing of Syria’s largest Kurdish party, the Democratic Union party (PYD).
On Wednesday, Scurfield’s parents, who live in Royston near Barnsley, issued a statement through the Foreign Office.
“We are devastated to confirm the death of our son Konstandinos Erik Scurfield in Syria, where he went to support the forces opposing Islamic State. His flame might have burned briefly, but it burned brightly with love, courage, conviction and honour and we are very proud of him.”
Scurfield is understood to have been with 45 Commando based in Plymouth for about two years before travelling to Syria earlier this year, where he joined the Lions of Rojava unit of foreign fighters within the YPG, the armed wing of the PYD.

Ivana Hoffman, a African-German member of Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (MLKP), was killed in fighting against the Islamic state militants in Tel Tamr on 7 March, the MLKP has announced.
Hoffman who was nicknamed Avaşin Tekoşin Güneş was involved in clashes between the IS and the Kurds over Assyrian villages in Tel Tamr, which erupted after the People’s Defence Units (YPG) attacked Tel Hamis and Tel Brak and removed the IS from there.
Hoffman was born in Germany on September 1, 1995, and fought for six months in the Hasakah province against the Islamist state terrorist militia. Her dream was to fight after the war in Syria, in Turkey and the Kurdish dominated southeast of Turkey. “Comrade Avaşin Tekoşin Güneş is immortal,” the MLKP said in a statement
